Our Story
Silver Lining Fostering is an Outstanding-rated fostering agency committed to providing safe, stable and nurturing homes for children in care, alongside exceptional support for foster carers. Our approach is relationship-led, safeguarding-focused and centred on achieving positive, long-term outcomes for children.
The agency was founded by two award-winning women social workers and first-generation immigrants whose experience spans fostering teams within both Independent Fostering Agencies and Local Authorities. Shaped by frontline practice and a deep sense of empathy for children separated from their families, they built a service grounded in compassion, high standards and meaningful support for carers.
Today, Silver Lining Fostering is recognised for excellence in foster care, underpinned by robust safeguarding practice, skilled social work leadership and a culture where children and families remain at the heart of everything we do.

Director / Agency Decision Maker
Founding Director and qualified social worker with over 20 years’ social work experience, including extensive practice in fostering and adoption across Independent Fostering Agencies and Local Authorities. Provides strategic leadership on placements and agency performance, grounded in strong regulatory expertise and a child-centred approach.
Sania
Director / Responsible Individual
Founding Director with over 20 years’ social work experience. Recognised with the She Inspires Award 2024 for leadership and impact in social care, she leads on the recruitment and development of foster carers, providing strategic direction and championing high-quality, inclusive fostering, with a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent children.

Registered Manager / CEO
Over 30 years’ experience in social work, with extensive expertise in child protection, fostering and adoption. Much of her career has been spent in senior leadership roles within Local Authorities. An expert in the Secure Base model, she leads Silver Lining Fostering with clarity, innovation and a strong commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children.

Team Manager
Experienced leader with extensive expertise in child protection, fostering and adoption. Previously a Registered Manager, with a strong background across both Local Authority teams and Independent Fostering Agencies. Committed to placing children and foster carers at the centre of every decision and driving high standards of practice.
Sarah
Deputy Team Manager
Qualified social worker and systemic practitioner with extensive experience in assessing foster carers. Has worked across Local Authority children and families teams as well as fostering services, bringing strong safeguarding and assessment expertise. Leads on foster carer recruitment and assessments, combining analytical rigour with a reflective, relationship-focused approach.
How to Become a Foster Carer
Our straightforward, supportive process guides you from initial enquiry to approval as foster carer. Every step is designed to prepare you with the confidence and skills to provide safe, stable care.
Initial Enquiry
Get in touch with us to discuss your interest in fostering. We'll answer your questions and explain the process.
Assessment Process
Our experienced social workers will guide you through a comprehensive but supportive assessment.
Training & Preparation
Training runs in parallel with the assessment process, meaning you are fully prepared by the time your approval panel takes place.
Fostering Panel
Your assessment report is presented to our independent Fostering Panel. You will usually be informed of the panel's recommendation verbally on the day.
Approval & Matching
Following panel, the Agency Decision Maker grants formal approval. Once approved, we'll carefully match you with children who will benefit from your unique skills and home.
